XSEED Games Launches Much-anticipated RPG Sim Rune Factory 5 on Nintendo Switch

XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., announced today that the long-awaited brand-new entry in the beloved series, Rune Factory 5, is now available on Nintendo Switch™ system in North America. The RPG simulation title includes new gameplay features and introduces a colorful cast of characters. Users with Rune Factory 4 Special save data on their Switch system will also meet Doug and Margaret from that title as guest NPCs and receive past protagonists Lest and Frey’s outfits as a special gift.
DLC sets featuring costumes inspired by past entries in the Rune Factory series and swimsuits based on characters from Rune Factory 4 are also now available for purchase on Nintendo eShop.The digital pre-order bonus ‘Holy Knight and the Bibliophile Swimsuit Set + New Ranger Care Package Item Pack,’ with swimsuits based on fan-favorites Forte and Kiel along with a selection of helpful items to help SEED rangers get started, will be available for direct purchase for $1.99 from Apr. 26. And, as a special bonus, all players will receive outfits based on characters Aden and Sonja from Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny automatically in their game.
In celebration of the Rune Factory 5 launch, XSEED Games is hosting a special in-person event with giveaways for those attending as well as fans online. The event will be held on Mar. 26 at 10:00 AM PT at Honey and Butter Macarons in Irvine. Known for their “kawaii” creations, the macaron specialists will be offering themed versions of the sweet treat based on characters from Rune Factory 5, while supplies last.

Rune Factory 5 is available as a limited retail ‘Earthmate Edition’ and standard edition available for an MSRP of $79.99 and $59.99, respectively on the XSEED Games Store and participating retailers. The ‘Earthmate Edition’ includes a custom outer box with artwork from series illustrator Minako Iwasaki, an exclusive SteelBook case, artbook with over 70 pages of varied artwork, and more.
Digital Editions
Rune Factory 5 is available as a standalone version and as a Digital Deluxe Edition containing additional content for $59.99 and $69.99, respectively, on the Nintendo eShop. As an added bonus, players with Rune Factory 4 Special save data on their Nintendo Switch™ will unlock additional DLC outfits and see some familiar faces from Rune Factory 4 Special appear in their town in Rune Factory 5!
