[Review] Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom

2 min read

Nintendo Canada reached out with an opportunity for me to review Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and I took them up on it. It’s been a long time since I played Zelda title, as far back as the original release of Skyward Sword, so I was delighted and amazed at the time I’ve had and what I’ve experienced of the game! I can definitely see why it’s a Game of The Year contender. From the expansive world to the characters, story and fusion system for equipment I’ve fallen in love with this new iteration of Hyrule.

I was hesitant as having not played Breath of the Wild but only spectated the majority of the game as viewer I didn’t know what to expect honestly, and what I had seen of the game in the times I caught friends playing it before didn’t prepare me for the fun I’ve had now that I’ve gone hands on with the game. There is an unexpected amount of depth in this world that slowly comes alive in the the course of dangerous events and I’ve found myself just checking out the vistas and the environments of the world in the course of my playthroughs. There’s a story being told and while I always try to avoid spoilers when I do my reviews, I found myself more and more drawn in the further along I go!

Taking lessons they learned from Breath of the Wild it is obvious to see just how much time and love went into crafting Tears of the Kingdom and the attention to detail, those “Zelda-isms” we’ve come to look for and expect and of course Link in all his stoic yet occasionally comical glory lend itself to an adventure that only Nintendo could deliver in this beloved and long running franchise.

Please enjoy and check out my spoiler free review below and I wholeheartedly recommend that if you haven’t picked up Legend of Zelda: tears of The Kingdom you absolutely should!
